Correct me if I am wrong. I had read St. Bernard Parish had a 64 ft wave during Katrina. Surge along with waves could do this. It is not about Cat 2 or Cat 5, it is about the pressure.

Yes it’s indeed possible. I vividly remember being in 35-45ft seas off the Dutch coast and the chart depths showed a nominal 30ft. It was a Beaufort scale force 11 storm (one notch shy of hurricane strength).
