Reid suggests McCain lacks temperament to be president

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had some of his harshest words yet for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Friday, suggesting his colleague lacks the temperament and judgment to be president.

Reid used time on the Senate floor to talk presidential politics, lumping the GOP nominee together with President Bush and drawing a clear distinction between them and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), the Democratic presidential nominee.

“Our dangerous world calls for leaders with sound judgment, not those with a temperament prone to recklessness,” Reid said. “Our country deserves more than token shifts and lip service to change. We need to take decisive action to reverse eight years of foreign policy mistakes. That’s exactly what Sen. Obama and Senate Democrats offer.”

The McCain campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Reid is typically critical of McCain at news conferences and in statements, but the tone of his remarks Friday took the rhetoric to a new level. Reid’s office acknowledged as much, but would not say whether the comments were intended to coincide with a more aggressive tack taken by the Obama campaign.

Hey Harry, what say you about the temperament of an candidate willing to drop a small army of investigators into the hometown of a political opponent in an attempt to dig up dirt on them???

"what new strategy? he’s started saying President McCain.......LOL (on drudge)"

Don't be too hard on old Harry. After all, he was the first one on the block to explain that the surge failed. Don't laugh - that become a major element of the Democrat platform and a theme of the Obama campaign. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving.

OK. Now you can laugh.

So, Sen Reid was using U. S. Government resources to campaign for Sen Obama, huh?

Isn’t that a violation of law?

Mr. Reid is, perhaps, the most miserable man in public life. He is supremely unhappy.

Have you ever heard him say something good about anyone or anything?

I guess it’s a gift.

He’s even a self-professed pessimist. Says it keeps him from being disappointed.

Good Lord. The man is, evidently, disappointed by just about the whole world...and then some.

Two questions:
What makes liberal politicians so stupid?
What makes liberals vote for liberal politicians?

The fact that Reid himself acts like a spoiled 2 year old gives him no room to accuse someone else. He and Pelosi can fume and spout more than anyone I know in politics.

The usual DNC bilge.

Who (besides hard core leftists and the media) takes squeaky Harry Reid seriously? He looks and sounds like the little hack politician he is.

Reid's infamous "The war is lost" comment (April 19th, 2007) will be his political epitaph.

I especially like “the lip service to change” part. Congress what have you done lately? Worst congress in history!

Reid said. “Our country deserves more than token shifts and lip service to change.

Sounds to me like he was referring THE ONE.

Who cares what this little man says. My dream is that the GOP can regain the Senate (a stretch I know).

Reid lacks the brains to be anything other than an fry cook at Burger King!

The Democrats are enabling the Republicans to take over the government.

(I only hope the RINOs in the ranks don't screw things up again.)
