I will be surprised if the fatality count is below 10-15. It just looks so bad. I mean that whole car is rammed inside the car behind it.

Then again, I’ve seen incidents where you think the fatality count is going to be high, and then it’s not so bad.

Villaraigosa just spoke and said there were over 100 injured (including minor injuries) and siad there are 10 fatalities.
He achknowledged there will probably be more before it’s all over.

My great grandmother used to talk about how bad train crashes can be. Telescoping is a big problem. Sometimes many cars telescope into one.

Chilling.

Unfortunately fatalities are high in telescope type collisions.

Awful coincidence -- Chatsworth, Illinois, was the site of a terrible train wreck in 1887. Also a telescope. 85 fatalities.

Heartfelt prayers for all those involved.
