Thought you knew everything you ever wanted to know about Sarah Palin?
Turns out the Alaska governor and Republic presidential nominee is also a Seattle Seahawks fan.
Seth Kolloen over at Sports Northwest Magazine appears to have confirmed it today: Palin and her husband, Todd, are members of the Seahawkers -- the Seahawks fan club -- in Alaska.
More at Kolloen's former stomping ground, Seattlest.
Local Seahawks fans -- feel a kinship?
| McCain Closes to Within Two Points of Obama in Washington Hmmmm... maybe another point for being a Seahawk fan?
Does the relative proximity of Alaska to Washington State give McCain/Palin some home state advantage in Washington? |
smart lady......
Yes, and they would be stupid not to play it up. There was a suggestion on another thread that Sarah raise the 12th man flag at a Hawks game. Everyone figured they were Seahawks fans. We are still the gateway to Alaska, even if that isn't quite as literal as it used to be.
Put her in at QB.
Damn. A Seahawks fan. And here I was thinking that she was absolutely perfect in every way. I don’t care, I’m still hopelessly in love.
Incidentally, speaking of football, anyone else catch her using the phrase “calling an audible” tonight to describe when you need to change your mind about something? I loved it.
Yet one more reason to like her...

Seahawks duo blitzed by Bush backlash
Are you still fans of Matt Hasselbeck and Mack Strong after they visited President Bush last week in Bellevue? Or have their political leanings turned you against them?
The Seahawks quarterback and fullback gave the 43rd president a No. 43 jersey with his name on it at a $1,000-a-plate fundraiser for Rep. Dave Reichert at the Hyatt.
At the time, Hasselbeck called it a thrill and said it was a win-win, this opportunity to meet the president and get out of a team meeting. But as soon as he saw the picture of the two players with Bush, Gary Wright, the team's vice president of administration, said he was concerned about negative reaction.
Maybe in really red Republican states, it would not have been a big deal. But Washington is a blue state, and deep, deep Democratic blue in King County. So objections were raised, and Hasselbeck heard them and read them. He got nasty voice mails, e-mails and text messages.
"I had no idea," Hasselbeck said.
One guy told him: "I hate you, I'll never wear your jersey, I'll never like the Seahawks again."
"Huh?" Hasselbeck thought. "Seriously?"
I wouldn't be surprised if 0dumbo thinks an audible is something you put in a salad.
She couldn’t find a football team to cheer for?
Of course he's also a Bears fan.
And a Steelers fan....and a Ram's fan...and a Cowboys fan...and a Broncos fan...and a.....
I used to live in Seattle and I noticed a very strong connection to Alaska there. I met lots of people in Seattle who worked on salmon fishing boats in Alaska at some point in their lives.
It was in Seattle that I fell in love with salmon. . .
I knew there had to be something I wouldn’t like about her.
Sarah is ABSOLUTELY GENUINE.
And that’s what scares the f**k out of the Democrats.
It’s the first thing I’ve learned about Sarah and Todd that I dislike..... :^)
But I’ll try my best not to hold it against them!
At least they didn’t turn out to be NY Giants fans.... [diving under table, INCOMING!!!]
Nobody's perfect. I luv her nonetheless.
LOL!!!
well, Seattle is known for it's alternate life styles.....
Bummer. She is not perfect. Will keep looking.......
However, she likes football! How cool is that?
Well put. No true red-blooded American can possibly be a New York Giants fan.
