I actually do not feel much sympathy for them. After all, this (in my opinion) is simple suicide. What I do feel though is concern, since Britain is a nuclear power with a formidable defense system (sure, the funding may be going down ....apparently India will have a bigger defense budget by 2012), but they still have ballistic missile submarines prowling the oceans armed with Trident SLBMs.
If it wasn't for that I'd just write this off as another 'sad' suicide. However there are some repercussions.
I'd worry about Britian too, but since the exact same thing is happening in America on a slightly slower pace, our concern should be with our homeland. There are now many cities in the U.S. where large sections are Islamic holes, replete with mosques blaring out their 'call to prayer', (to Satan), five times a day. Mosques are being built from sea to shining sea at an alarming rate, foot washing tubs are being installed in airports and schools, Mohammedan cab drivers refuse to pick up people with dogs or carrying alchohol, organizations like CAIR are causing legal problems for U.S. citizens, public schools are teaching about Islam and taking children on "field trips" to mosques, our government is stepping all over Christianity in an effort to bannish it from the public sphere while bowing to Islamic concerns, and we should worry about Europe?
