He pulled a handgun and fired numerous shots, striking Sanders in the head and chest. In an instant, Sanders was dead

That was quick.

Another long, long criminal career (one that surely would have eventually involved murder(s)) nipped in the bud. An innocent person or persons will now live a long, normal, happy life, thanks to the right to keep and bear arms. All in all, a good day in Dodge. No tears for the thug who died, despite his age. He is where he belongs and deserves to be.

The people who sleep well after such an incident are those whose line of thinking goes something like this:

There I was, minding my own business, working to provide for myself and my family so that the government wouldn't have to when in walked a criminal intent on taking the fruits of my labor and threatening my life. He got what was coming to him!

*Sniff.* I love a happy ending.

I’m sorry for the shop owner, though. I hope he works through it.

I’m all broken up insde just thinking about that poor young boy.

Good thing there are still comedy club tickets avaialbel for tonights show. I’ll laugh myself back in shape over a few beers.

By tomorrow I should be able to put this whole mess out of my mind.

Amariae Sanders was a 16-year-old boy who may have thought a San Pablo gift shop would be an easy mark. But when he vaulted the counter while armed with a sawed-off shotgun, he had no way of knowing that the store owner would fight back, police say. Brian Wogsland, the owner of A&L Posters on San Pablo Ave., had been robbed twice before and was ready when Sanders and another young man entered about 5 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said. He pulled a handgun and fired numerous shots, striking Sanders in the head and chest.

Brian, Good for you!1 I hope the thug's family - or the American Communist Lovers Union - or both - won't sue you but if you do, I know FReepers would help you!!

"He was pretty upset when we interviewed him," said police Sgt. Dave Lewellyn. "He obviously didn't want to have to shoot anybody. But he has been the victim of violent crime, and at some point he's going to have to take these kinds of measures to protect himself. He told us he was in fear for his life."

Excellent! That's exactly the way to play it. The most important part is: "He told us he was in fear for his life." Don't laugh and pop the champagne until after the cops leave.
