Oh man, how could I forget that one? But you're right, they don't do instrumentals like that anymore. (I was born in 1975, btw, and MiM was, yeah, 62-63)

On that topic, there's the song that, when I took up trombone in sixth grade, Mom asked, could I learn it for her, and so I did at one time. Just need to dust my embouchure off for Tommy Dorsey -- "Gettin' Sentimental Over You."

And they're not instrumentals, but much in the same vein, especially with a good trumpet part on each, so I gotta think of:

It's All Right -- Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions (one last call for '63)
Mississippi Mud -- Paul Whiteman/Davenport's own Bix Beiderbecke

The floodgates are open, and I won't be the one to close 'em.
