I used to think she was sort of attractive, had no idea she looked so hideous. That full on frontal perspective in all these shots is not good for her. It is a man’s nose — a hard drinking man. I wonder if it hasn’t gotten more salient over the years. Bulbous was the first word I thought of too.

I'd have to see pictures of her when she was younger, but now that you mention it, that does look like a drinking man's nose . . . except it isn't red and inflamed. Although I suppose makeup could cover that - as well as enhance it.

Much of the famous Fields nose was makeup. But by the time you turn 50 you have the face you deserve, mostly.
