mrsmel: “They are still going to find ways to avoid the consequences of their sin-by killing innocent babies, by calling themselves “victims” and blaming the public/government for “not doing enough” when they are the ones engaging in high-risk homosexuality, etc.”

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about, but it’s such an amazing relief when you finally decide to turn from evil and stop blaming others. It’s like this great weight is lifted off your back.

I spent years fighting against doing what is right. One battle leads to another. When you finally choose to stop fighting against God, the war is over. Yeah, life might go crazy around you, but you are peaceful on the inside.

Now that is exactly what’s available for any person who turns from sin. That includes women who have had an abortion and now know what a terrible evil it was. That guilt can also go away in an instant.

I highly recommend making peace with the Lord. Is sin really worth the trouble it brings? I think not.

You are so right. When you give up fighting God and what he wants for you it does bring an inner calm that no one can take away. Even in these very difficult times. You know that though you aren’t perfect, in big things and small, the guess work is gone, in all things you will strive to be honest, kind, giving and meek. It truly works.

As for the guilt from abortion, you are so right. Thanks to Rachel’s Vineyard so many women and men are learning to admit their guilt and grieve over what they have done.
The only thing is that even though the guilt is relieved, the sorrow is never ending. I know, I find myself in tears sometimes crying out to God, not for forgiveness, but just as a child telling her father how sorry she is and how sad it makes her that she was so callous with his gift. I know now what I did and why, I understand and I have sought his forgiveness and forgiven myself, but just as any mother who has lost a child, I think of him/her and feel such sorrow. I do not ask God to take away my pain. I thank Him for it, it reminds me of why I do what I do.

I am blessed now with two healthy, beautiful children. I will never give up the fight for all the unborn children and their mothers. I will never give up raising my voice in defense of the least among us.

God has given us such wonderful encouragement. When people like Boxer says something like this, I know that our message is being heard and the pro-aborts are being forced to debate using our terms not theirs. We must be patient and know that it is God’s battle and He will win. We are just his soldiers giving Him our lives and letting Him do the rest.

I agree. I wish everyone could know what’s meant when we say, “God’s in control”. It means we can have peace about all the turmoil in the world, because God has a plan, and man’s evil can’t overcome it. I think I’d want to kill myself if I knew this wicked world existed, all the evil you can’t help hearing and knowing about no matter how much you try to keep it out of your life, and there was no God overseeing it all, directing it all to His ends, and giving us His Word that it will all work to His glory in the end.
