She’s real! She’s authentic! She’s one of us! Whatever happens in November, she will eventually be the President of the United States.

I missed that. What about the Van Halen brothers complaining about them using “Right Now”? What about Sammy Hagar who was the singer and I believe had a part in writing that song. I think they’d get the ok through him and he is friends with Ted Nugent and I think he’d be cool with it even if they weren’t.

From what I read a couple of weeks ago here on the FR, the VH bros are unhappy about Team McCain's usage of Right Now. However, I don't believe they've gone so far to slap a cease & desist order against the campaign.

Also on FR (IIRC), Hagar is perfectly happy with Team McCain's usage of the song.

I couldn’t find it on Fox; went to CNN, and when they started talking over her to tell me what she said; I went back to streaming. Wish they had had a couple of cameras there to give different views.

The view wasn’t very good for the streaming but her speech made up for it. I turned to Fox but then they left the speech and had the anchor tell us what she said. I detest the media when they tell me what I am hearing.

We drove a couple of hours to see Sarah. Our kids were the ones that were dying to see her (10 & 15). We bypassed the police by cutting through a side street and parked right at the event. We were late so our tickets were useless. Towards the end of her speech, alot of people started leaving so we were able to get closer and see her. After her speech ended, she and Todd stayed 30+ minutes to sign items. My son was thrilled to get his MaCain/Palin hat signed by the First Dude.

Todd is great! I saw a person in uniform walk up and Todd went out of his way to reach out and shake his hand. I was also impressed by how helpful and friendly all of the attendees were! We saw a few people who has fainted from the heat and several stretchers were brought in. People in the crowd helped clear the way for the emergency personnel. When the event was over, there was one lady who was picking up discarded flags off of the ground so the demos couldn't criticize the Palin fans.

Afterwards, we went out to eat and met a lady who volunteers at the local GOP office. She told us that their office printed out 30K tickets and gave all of them away. Tickets were printed out in all of the surrounding counties. I live up by the GA/FL state line and our office even printed out tickets.

I actually think any future events are going to have to be re-evaluated to handle the unexpected crowds, so far every rally she has gone to the projected figures fall way short of what really happens.

And its not fading, not at all. I had a feeling it was going to be a history making event...again.

I feel bad about those trying to brave the heat, myself and my family we are so acclimated to Alaska weather that we can only visit Florida at Disneyworld in the dead of winter, any day its over 75 it wears us down pretty quick, luckily Sarah is a marathon runner.

We all need to spread the word of the efforts of many to be part of the New America of the rallies of Sarah and John McCain, they came because they need a hero, not an image.

Me too. It’s like I don’t have a brain or can think on my own. :-(

“America... need(s) a hero, not an image.”

Excellent! I really like this; very true.

Yes, I too felt sorry for those people standing out there. Even with the poor images the streaming had, I could see lots of red faces. I’m an “almost native” Floridian (moved here when I was 10), and I couldn’t have tolerated the sun and heat. Many/Most of those attending didn’t have hats on either. I heard they did hand out water, which helped I’m sure.

Maybe any other Florida event could be held closer to dusk? We can still get evening showers, but the temperatures are much more tolerable then.
