I agree. This isn’t the only possible explanation (there may yet be an indictment released); but from what I have seen thus far, this is the most likely—the prosecutors didn’t want an indictment.
Similar to how the DC prosecutor, Ken Wainstein, squirmed out of having to prosecute Cynthia McKinney for striking a capitol police officer. (He was under tremendous pressure from the black caucus not to prosecute; and he was up for confirmation for another federal job at the time.) So he let the Grand Jury “fail to indict”. Not his problem, after that. . .
So.....Fed charges are dropped then????
But - with Sarah being the Governor, in charge of the Alaska State Police, couldn’t she herself have her State Attorney General arrest this perp and have state-level investigators bring criminal charges brought to bear???

I have seen direct evidence that the Feds are very serious about this case.
It is possible that David Kernell has admitted what he did, and promised to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation in return for reducing the charges to a non-felony. Plea Bargain to tell all. There are others that may not feel very comfortable right now.
This might be the best possible outcome.
Could be the tip of the iceberg if the “astroturf” efforts are exposed to the public. There are some really treacherous people working out of the public vision. Expose some of that and you really have something.
This sure sounds like a bunch of crap to me... Is there a possibility that they could adjourn, but not deliver a “verdict” on the case in question? Like some kind of “not enough info at this time” sort of ruling? Or, is this “it”?
Is there a possibility that charges could still be brought outside of the Grand Jury process?

Uhhhh, isn't that partly what a gread jury does? Discover is there is enough evidence for ANY charge to be brought and on what grounds?

No, the grand jury looks at the charges and evidence and decides if there is any viable connection between them. No charges = no case.

Part of what our system of law uses is setting the stage to prevent others from committing a similar crime. He broke into the email account of a Governor of a state, and who just happens to be running for VP.
If a tone of leniency for such actions is set now it makes it harder to convict and punish the next time. Maybe others would see it is just as wrong to break into someones email account as their home.
The perp should be prosecuted to the maximum extent.
I'm with you on that one. The little punk deserves to lose a lot of sleep over this, and so do his parents.
I've posted in another thread that the hacker would probably cop a plea.
He's just a puppet, so they need to find out just who the puppet master is.
