ROCKWELL — A Depot Street couple discovered Sunday that someone did more than just disagree with their choice for president.
Someone spray-painted a racial slur on the Barack Obama campaign sign in their front yard.
Sharon Osetek, who is black, and her husband, Alan Osetek, who is white, were leaving their Depot Street home Sunday morning when they discovered someone had spray-painted the word "n-----" on the Obama sign in front of their house.
The sign is blue with the names Obama and Biden printed in white. The sign is outlined in white and a lighter shade of blue.
Someone had sprayed the slur in white across the sign.
The couple were on their way to Obama's campaign rally in Charlotte Sunday and were leaving their home around 7:45 a.m.
On their way out of the driveway, Sharon noticed the writing.
"It was shock," she said. "Even though I knew I was in that type environment, it didn't really bother me until yesterday."
Alan was driving, and he didn't immediately get a good look at the sign. But Sharon did.
"I could pretty much make it out at the time," she said. "It was written on both sides."
Alan was a bit skeptical at first. He told his wife he didn't believe someone would actually write the "N word" on their sign.
But he soon saw it, too.
The couple decided to continue on to the rally, leaving the sign in place at the edge of their yard.
The Oseteks chose to leave the sign up to "show the ignorance that still goes on," Sharon said.
"I was hoping I didn't live in this type community," she said.
When they arrived home, the sign was gone. As they approached their front porch, it was lying near the steps.

Obama - in a way - painted words all across America when he called his grandmother a “typical white person” on national television.
Maybe it was a black brother’s greeting. No problem there.
What type of environment? She's a black woman, living in a country where she is free to fall in love and marry a white man - they have a home, a car, jobs - they are free to vote their choice of a candidate, even a socialist like Barry H. Obama.... Is she living under some conditions we are unaware of????

Put up some surveillance cameras and we’ll see if the 0bama supporters are doing this sort of thing themselves.
These “victims” however, will have no problem at all with harassment of McCain supporters, or vandalism against their cars or property.
I hate that race has been injected into this campaign. I have always maintained that it was NOT the man, but the issues that you need to be voting for or against.

So what. Thanks to the race-hustlers and the victim card being played 24/7 in this campaign, I am no longer offended on behalf of myself or anyone for use of that word. So what...
The Obama camp, and that includes supporters like these, are not beyond this type of behavior. The Obamanation has been playing the race card from the beginning, even more so lately.

Yup, that was my first thought as well... Where was the good professor that night, and did she have any spare nooses in her trunk?
Laird Wilcox did a study on this stuff in the early 90’s. The title was ‘The Hoaxer Report’ and it addressed such hoaxes on both the left and the right. The vast majority were on the left. His study indicated that ‘more than half of the incidents reported were hoaxes perpetrated by the person reporting them.
Was it spelled correctly? Because if not, that could be a clue for the chief investigator of the political sign defacing squad for Rockwell.
My McCain sign got trashed last night. As it was well-rubbed with poison ivy, I’m watchin’ to see which neighbor is sporting Calamine Lotion on their hands and arms! Bwaaa!
Well that was timely! And they’re leaving the sign out, as well. Hmmm......
