Dear God, what an utterly moronic statement.

Not that I'm surprised, mind you...

“They will NEVER agree to anything that will stop their abuse of the stockholder.”

‘The System’ keeping the little man down, eh? Republican Party Reptiles stole your lunch?

Last time I checked, nobody was forcing me to invest in Halliburton...

I would love to hear President Bush condense that data and name names tonight. But unless he drastically changes his tone, we know he won’t.

Republicans held Congress from 1995-2007

Guess you missed the whole Jeffords thing where the Dems held the Senate for two years?

That’s true, but the stockholder still has too little say in how the executives in THEIR company is paid.

I frankly do not care how much this or that CEO is paid, but when a company pays a CEO $375 million, then proceeds to default on loans made to them, then there is a FRAUD going on.

No, I was around.

That is not the reason for the current meltdown.

The last time President Bush took the side of the common man was his 9/11 speech.

The fact he has been fighting to use our tax dollars to make multi-million dollar payoffs for his fat-cat, bailout buddies who ran their businesses into debt is all we need to know.

He has screwed conservatives for 7 years - hopefully this will be the last good rogering he can fit in before January.

This is payback time.

Remember the crap you all gave me over the Shamnesty bill?

The gubment is going to tell us how much income is too much?

Yep --- he who pays the piper gets to name the tune. IF an organization takes govt money, it needs to accept some conditions. If they don't like them, don't take the money.

Enosh -- otherwise every bank with a with bad debt on their books will send a voucher to govt for reimbursement.

This is horrible. While I have little sympathy for these clowns who run their companies into the ground, and then get golden parachutes, limits on executive compensation will cause a reverse brain-drain. We have enough problems competing now with Sarbanes-Oxley, the best and the brightest will land overseas putting us at a distinct competitive disadvantage.

This is scarey, but absolutely necessary. I hope someone wrote him a powerful speech. Hope he names names and tell us just exactly WHY this has to happen. He’s got a lot a splainin’ to do.

One of the whys I've heard comments on, is "foreign investors" and how this will hurt the finances of "foreign countries". The specific countries have never been mentioned.

If Fanny, Freddy et al have such a big effect on other countries, why don't we have the citizens of those other countries cough up their 2 cents for a bailout?

NO BAILOUT!

Obviously some people are more content with a comfortable descent deeper into socialism than a rough and tough time with no government intrusion.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaarn it. I guess I will have to wait for the season premiere of Criminal Minds.

I hope there’s no bailout. As my great senator Bunning said, a bailout would be “socialism” not a “Free Market Solution”.

2008 has just been a stinky stinky year.

“NO BAILOUT!”

Republicans just released their own plan. No bailout: cut capital gains tax, privatize Fannie Mae, etc....love it!
