Crap. I don’t know what to make of this.

Does this mean he’s rolled over and is going to back the Paulson socialist plan to buy up mortgage trash?

This was John’s “I paid for this microphone!” moment, and it looks like he’s blown it.

This is going to really fluster Obama.

They'll have to hastily rewrite all his scripts and talking points.

Obama wins.

McCain caves in. Fell for their crap, and gave in. Now it all just looks like a stunt after all. Too bad. He should have stayed until they sign it. But, I am sure the dems wouldn’t sign while he was there.

All Obama proved is that he is a jerk, and he doesn’t contribute anything constructive.

Wow. His campaign poll numbers must say that this backfired pretty bad.

On thing he has been doing this is successfully keeping Obama on the defensive and off guard. McCain is controlling the timeline.

McCain should charter a plane from DC to Mississippi, come in at the last minute and make it quite clear that he has to leave first to get back to Washington to get some work done. Tell Zerobama to keep he cell phone on in the unlikely event they need him.

I’d guess this is the right call. Political damage control. Had McCain skipped the debate without a deal in hand, he would look like the bad guy. He’s differentiated himself from BHO (who went to the gym) and probably has not good reason for not attending now that negotiations are underway.

I could care less about the debates. For the most part, they don't do anything to change my mind. It's photo op, symbolism over substance. Some of these guys have been campaigning for over two yrs, if you don't know what they stand for something is wrong with you. (And I'm referring to the "royal" you...)

Like this was hard to predict. He now has Obambi dancing like a puppet.

McCain is now the anti-Bush on the bailout, protecting voters from a giant fraud. Now he comes to the debate with no prep (upsetting Obama’s intense bootcamp) and likely kicks butt.

Support The Bush Obama Fatcat Bailout!

Okay the debate is on. How many nano seconds after the debate will the MSM declare Obama the clear victor no matter how bad he does?

That means my appearance scheduled for "Hannity's America" Sunday night is almost certainly killed, as they said if the debate happened they would air debate crap. Bah!

That cost me a few grand.

I’m in a real bad mood today, so this is going to come across a lot harsher than I usually let myself post.

But what a bunch of freaking whiny crybabies on this site lacking even a modicum of political sense!

McCain says, “We need to deal with this issue, I am stopping my campaign and would like to push the debate back. I ask for Senator Obama to join me in this.”

Obama says, “No, a President should be able to multi-task.”

McCain goes to Washington, is seen in the press all day working on the deal. The deal isn’t done, but since Obama refused to agree to postpone the debate, McCain hops down to Mississippi to debate him.

With the above situation we have people saying “He caved!”, “It backfired!”.

When they get to the debate tonight, and an economic deal still isn’t finished, people will say “Why are they debating when they should be coming up with a solution?”

and the only answer they can come up with?

Because Obama said “No” to postponing the debate.

Now who looks “political”?

Part of me hopes he’ll slip in a comment on the bailout tonight - that he’s opposing it and backing the House Republicans.
