He needs to cut the "maverick" crap as well. When you start referring to yourself as a maverick, it becomes a huge joke and you sound like you think nobody is convinced that you're a maverick. If you actually are a "maverick", you don't need to keep mentioning it or having your running mate constantly repeating it. People will know it.
