WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Legislation providing up to $700 billion (381.4 billion pound) to bail out the U.S. financial industry will be voted on in the U.S. Senate no earlier than Wednesday, sources close to the discussions said on Sunday.

The House of Representatives will vote on the bill on Monday, said House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat.

But the Senate faces more complex problems in passing legislation. Before bills get to the floor, leaders must determine whether any senator is considering procedural hurdles to slow down action. And a Jewish holiday that starts at sundown on Monday will put off any Senate work through Tuesday.

"The earliest the Senate could get to it is Wednesday," said one source, who asked not to be identified...

Since when were Jewish holidays paid government employee holidays? No wonder Senate appears to be doing nothing all the time. They take the paid time off for all religions holidays, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddist etc.

It's no wonder there seems to be mass confusion among the senate dealing with this problem-- they were all off on holidays, stuffing their faces with fine foods and expensive booze at taxpayers expense, but had to cut their Ramadan time off short and fly back to Washington...

Yeah, no "bail out" let those nasty "big corrupt banks and businesses collapse in an orgy of greed.

Funny, it seems all those that would attend these 'protests' are people who don't have anything invested anywhere, or think their Mutal funds etc. are safe.

Little do they know that is is the shareholders, bondholders etc. big and small who loose everything first. If anyone thinks their retirement funds they have with a trust company isn't in danger, they are fooling themselves. These companies take those funds and invest them in stocks bonds bank shares etc. to make money. They loose- you loose.

I am sick and tired of immoral, selfish, greedy people running the USofA. It has got to stop.
