McCain now a leaner in N.C.

Congressional Quarterly has downgraded John McCain's chances here.

The Washington-based news service had previously listed North Carolina as "Republican Favored" but now ranks the state as the more competitive "Leans Republican."

Staffer Greg Giroux writes that Democrat Barack Obama still has an uphill climb in North Carolina and Indiana based on past elections:

"Still, it would take quite a leap for Obama to switch those two states from Republican red to Democratic blue on those Election Night electoral vote maps. While [George] Bush won Virginia by an 8 percentage-point margin, he carried North Carolina by 12 points -- even though Democratic vice presidential nominee [John] Edwards represented the state in the Senate -- and took Indiana by a 21-point margin."

I'm gonna love seeing the "egg on the faces" of the MSM here in NC when Palin and the Ole Guy win it in November!

I was down in NC this past weekend moving my mother from New Bern to Morehead City. Just about everywhere I looked (on the drive down and back and while we were there) I saw McCain/Palin signs and bumper stickers, I don’t think I even saw one Obama sign. I saw a couple of Obama bumper stickers, but they were on out of state vehicles.

This is smoke and mirrors just like BO’s entire campaign. Nothing is real, everything is fake!

Ras has NC going for Obama by 2 pts; and VA by 5. I can’t see these two states going blue. Frankly, I think it’s just a flirtation, but GOP voters will come back home on election day.

I live in Richmond, VA and drive to No.Va on a regular basis. Very few BO signs and bumper stickers. McCain/Palins everywhere. A lot of the campaign is won/lost on the ground with yard signs and bumpers.

“Macaca” was part of it, but the George Allen campaign was poorly run with little signage, while Webb was everywhere.

What is interesting is some of the blue state polls have McCain a lot closer to BO than Kerry was to Bush in 2000.
The red states are pulling towards Obama but the blue states have Obama’s leads lower than Kerry’s leads?
Something does not smell right.

Rasmussen and the other polls now have Brocko up again and McCain down, some by 8 points. Whattsup?

I don’t think Obama has a real chance at winning NC but I wouldn’t leave anything to chance. Virginia though there has been some slippage in the polls seems to be solidifying behind McCain/Palin at least in Central, Western, and Southern Virginia.

McCain hasn’t visited the state since the NC primary. He’ll come back and when he does he’ll win it.

I live in Al and even though we are a solid red state , I live in the bluest county in all of AL. A republican can’t even get elected dog catcher here. I see McCain-Palin signs
everywhere , only few Obama signs.

At work , all the democrats are voting for Mccain except for one guy. Sad but true , it’s a race thing for them.

I was in Bloomington, Indiana this weekend (liberal college town) and thought I’d see Obama stuff everywhere. I saw one kid at the football game with an Obama shirt. I saw a few Obama signs and bumper stickers but certainly not many.

True, but RAS pulled back one point. Battleground still has McCain up by 2.

This is a prayer for God's intervention in this election...

Father in Heaven, the mover and shaker of the universe. Please Lord let the blinders fall off those who have been blinded by the evil media and their demon hordes. Help us Lord because we have NO ONE else to turn to. You are the God of the impossible circumstance. We are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the principality of hell itself. We have no power or strength of our own, but YOUR word says CALL on me and see if I don’t open up the windows of heaven and usher out a blessing and miracles. Lord we need you oh so desperately. The battle is yours and the Victory is ours. Help us win against this Tsunami of evil. Give Mr. McCain/Palin and their camp wisdom to fight the demon evil RAT hordes. Lord give us blind faith to believe you and not polls or what others say as well. Confuse the enemy Lord. You have the power to defeat our enemies. BY TRUE FAITH Lord Jesus and humble hearts we ask. Lord you're our only hope. Amen.
