It's been reported that a firefight has broken out on the Ukrainian ship Faina, which was hijacked by Somali pirates last week. The captive freighter, currently off the coast of Africa is carrying 33 T-72 battle tanks and other military supplies reportedly on their way to Kenya.
According to Mikhail Voitenko – an argument among the pirates led to a shootout, in which three of the hijackers died. It's not thought the crew was harmed.
Meanwhile several U.S. warships are closely monitoring the hijacked ship.

Well, our battleships are all in mothballs, but there are some pretty aggressive destroyers in the vicinity.
Seriously, they don't want to start anything with the U.S. Navy. Seriously. Any skipper of anything larger than a mike boat who didn't run on them with guns blazing would be hooted out of his commission.
