What, exactly, does a junior Senator have to do, or be, in order to get these kinds of contributions?

I know that I've heard about our elected officials getting money from these finance organizations, but under what pretext are they able to accept it? You can't give someone a toaster without them having to report it, yet they can get hundreds of thousands of dollars with no accountability? I can see why McCain didn't raise this issue, since he is right up there also. :(

Personally I think that they all should pledge to return any PAC money from companies or banks that they have bailed out.
I don’t care if they are Republicans or Democrats. John McCain should call for this.

McCain is in bed with these Tooth Fairies. This is why he is not denouncing them.

Agree to be George Soros’ puppet.

And I went to college to study chemistry why? Politics is much more lucrative - Obama earned over a million last year on his books alone...What is wrong with this country? No, don’t answer, the multitude of responses would probably crash the Internet...and they ask my why I drink...

These statistics have to be understood before we can talk about them. These numbers are the amounts each person received from the company and its employees. Now, it is a well known fact that Obama has received campaign contributions from FAR more people than McCain. As such, he has received far more money from the employees of these companies. For example, the total amount Obama has received from the Freddie Mac itself is a mere $4000. Now, that isn't a small amount either, but we should at least make sure we're criticizing the real Obama and not one constructed from misunderstandings.
