To some evangelicals, Palin's career violates biblical teachings

In a white-steepled church along a stretch in picturesque canyon country, the preacher laid out the basic blueprint of a godly marriage: Husbands lead, wives submit.
Speaking recently before hundreds of worshipers at Placerita Baptist Church in Newhall, guest preacher Chris Mueller affirmed the view that loving male headship and gracious wifely submission are God's plan for spouses.
Placerita, like many conservative Christian churches, teaches that a wife's role is to be her husband's helpmate (Genesis), "workers at home" (Titus) and submissive to her husband in everything (Ephesians).
So how do these congregants square such teachings with their support for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the conservative evangelical Christian who is aiming to become vice president while her teenage daughter is pregnant, her infant son has Down syndrome and her husband took a leave from work to serve as "Mr. Mom," as People magazine put it?

Dang, now that’s a new perspective for the L.A. Times! (Yeah, I had to check three times to make sure that’s what I was reading.) Since when has the LA Times cared what
evangelicals think? Does this sound dopey to anyone else?
Oh, that’s right, they’re trying to influence an election by reminding evangelicals what they believe!

Hahahaha - they’re trying a subtle trick to try and keep folks from voting for pro-life McCain-Palin thinking they’ll choose the abortion-surviving-baby-terminator Obama?
Nice try boys. Keep the laughs coming.

For what possible reason is someone’s religion suddenly a proper inquisitorial role for the L.A. times, in “investigating” Mrs Palin, other than to hope the “investigation” will put some distance between her and “evangelicals” who might vote for her. The L.A. times has never acted before that it had any need to help “defend” the “true” positions of evangelicals and no one should be fooled that it suddenly gives two hoots about them now.

It’s rather ironic isn’t it? The only time these people seem concerned about Biblical matters at ALL, and the only time they don’t ridicule people for holding strong religious beliefs is when they (erroneously) think that it will benefit them in the eyes of Evangelicals.
They tried the same thing with Bristol’s pregnancy and yet they couldn’t understand why it didn’t work to make people HATE Palin! The truth is - they really DON’T understand Christians at ALL.

John Jay, first Supreme Court Chief Justice said that Americans should prefer Christians for their leaders. I could spend a thousand lines dredging up pro-Christian quotes from our Founders that the press has helped us shove down the memory hole. Now, all of the sudden, they are panicing that there is a viable candidate that might lead us back to what our Founders believed...and quick, go find the two Evangelicals that believe in The Wall!

Description of a Worthy Woman
An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
She is like merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
She rises also while it is still night
And gives food to her household
And portions to her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it;
From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She girds herself with strength
And makes her arms strong.
She senses that her gain is good;
Her lamp does not go out at night.
She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hands grasp the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She makes coverings for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
"Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all."
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31:10-31
.
Governor Palin reminds me very much of the "Worthy Woman" described in Proverbs 31!

Trying to drive a wedge, that’s all this is.
There are those that agree - it would be best for her family, and more biblical, if she stayed home and took care of the kids. But, Proverbs 31:10-, describing the “gold standard” of wives, describes an entrepeneurial woman who is righteous in all her ways.
What good, for God, would Palin do if she had the same life story sans political accomplishments? Nope, she has THE life story that serves His purpose at this time in history.

Women are supposed to submit to their husbands but that has nothing to do with national leadership.
Of course in the Church only men can be pastors since women in the Church cannot usurp authority over a man.
In other words no women pastors...
