I think making hay about ANYTHING to do with the accident is way, way out of bounds.

You cannot imagine holding some grudge about this guy after his family is wiped out.

While I despise his politics, he gets a pass on this from me.

You’ve got to be kidding. It’s ok to have great sympathy for Biden for losing his wife and children, but it’s not ok to excuse his blaming and slandering an innocent man.

Yeah, I can imagine it. I spent several years as a CHP traffic officer and have had to deal with many multiple fatality crashes. You never get used to it.

My poke wasn't necessarily at Biden. Humor is an attempt to deal with it; no matter if it was a lame attempt or not.

If you cannot deal with the facts you shouldn”t be in a position to stear the government.

It is not out of bounds when Biden himself has made false statements in public about the driver.
When you tell people that my wife was killed because this guy decided to drink his lunch instead of eating it...thats outrageously libelous.
This man suffered for many years because of that accident which may in fact have been the fault of Bidens wife.
For his family to hear such blatant lies about their loved one after his death, is obscene.
Biden should be called on this. Again it shows the lack of character the man possesses.
Indignation? Outrage? you bet.

I think making hay about ANYTHING to do with the accident is way, way out of bounds.

Yet, it's OK for Biden to use it to his poilitacl advantage.

You cannot imagine holding some grudge about this guy after his family is wiped out.

From everythng that I've read, the other driver was not at fault in the accident and he had not been drinking as Biden still slanderously asserts.

While I despise his politics, he gets a pass on this from me.

You're giving him a pass on lying about a dead man because he lost his family in an accident? That makes no sense to me.

Sorry, I forgot to include the article's second sentence which I meant to quote (emphasis mine):
The senator's statements don't jibe with news and law enforcement reports from the time, which cleared driver Curtis C. Dunn, who died in 1999, of wrongdoing.

Joe is the one holding the grudge ~ against an innocent man.

Such things should be out of bounds, right?

You may give him a pass but it goes to the very heart of the character issue. Joe Biden knew this man had been cleared of all wrong doing within a couple of months of investigation. Joe was telling these lies about this truck driver as late as this past year's campaign trail in an effort to further his political career.

Using his tragic story can be understood. But creating allegations that he knew were not true, lying about and slandering an innocent man in the process? Joe Biden is scum.

“I think making hay about ANYTHING to do with the accident is way, way out of bounds.”

Well, Biden called that game. He was the one making political hay and lying about this accident to ruin an innocent man’s life. We’re talking about his lies. He started this discussion with them.
