Tell California to cut spending until it’s in line with revenues, and not to raise taxes!

Hey Arnold....try drilling !

Since he was a large part of this problem and he refuses to take any responsibility, maybe Barney Franks could start a WPA type project across the nation building bathhouses. You know,...put people to work.

Gee all blue states. How did that happen?

What's even worse is that blue-state liberals migrated to red states such as Virginia and brought their baggage (left-wing values) with them.

Blue-state liberalism must be contained within blue states. If California or any other large blue state implodes, liberals from there will flee to red states, which they will promptly corrupt with left-wing values.

This is why “out-of-state clowns” post comments on “California threads”.

Oh pulllllllllllezzzzzzzzzzzz...don't give me that BS......you out-of-state clowns are just jealous of those of us who live in CA...
and FYI the latest figures from the Tax Foundation, California sent $50.6 BILLION in 2003 ALONE more to Washington in federal taxes than the state received in federal spending.

We don't need any damn loans, we just need Washington to send back some of those dollars we send to D.C. every year and we need a governor who knows what that veto pen in his desk is for, cut spending and BALANCE THE BUDGET.

Now quit bothering me and go see if you can fix PA...that'll keep you busy indefinitely!

Har! Good luck with that!
The original comment I posted on that "California thread", the one you responded to by calling me a clown, was something along the line of "Who cares?" I stand by that - - does anybody really believe that recalling Arnold would make any difference at all?? "Oh pulllllllllllezzzzzzzzzzzz".

Now quit bothering me and go see if you can fix PA...that'll keep you busy indefinitely!

You got that right. The only thing Pennsylvania has going for it is a 29 - 21 GOP Senate majority firewall and that, of course, is because, "Pennsylvania is Philadelphia at one end, Pittsburgh at the other end, and Alabama in between."(James Carville)

Other than that, the place is a mess - - too close to New Jersey and New York.

In any event, you are certainly welcome to comment on any "Pennsylvania threads" that may pop up. Meanwhile, I shall keep enjoying the California threads mainly for their hilarious entertainment value. Good luck!

FRegards,
LH

Sell Southern California to Mexico.

Keep the Naval, Base at San Diego

Turn the base into another Gitmo

I may be mistaken, but didn't the Terminator want to spend billions on gorebal warming initiatives and embryonic stem cell research? Wasn't it part of his "we must lead because Washington won't do it" mantra?

Arnold and California are like some 19-year-old brat who boldly proclaims he's an adult and can run his own life--but then goes running to Mommy and Daddy for a bail out when he makes a mess of things!

Because every government program has such lofty sounding goals, the politicians are able to sell all of them as absolutely essential and to proclaim doom if any of these noble-sounding programs were cut.

Arnold begging the Feds to bail out California's failed experiement in big goverment statism is yet another painful reminder of why I wish I could take back the vote I gave him.

Why doesn’t government (any government at any level) have to live within it’s means?

Missouri does.

I would appreciate some input on the constitutionality of this and if there are any precedents.

I understand the 10th amendment, but am looking for other issues and a serious, not emotional discussion.

The Federal Government assumed the wartime debts of individual States after the Revolution, but wartime debts of the Confederate States (individual States that had seceded, as well as the Confederate government) were worthless after the Civil War. And, various States defaulted on canal bonds during the 19th century...no Federal bailout there.

This is true. I had forgotten about that.

And I believe there may have been a bailout during the Panic of '07 (that's 1907), but I have to get back to you on that one.
