Agreed.

Just so much propaganda

Watch for manipulation next week that McCaine's negative campaign has backfired and he is 12% down, as America buys that McCain is a racist.( LOL).

Its designed to demoralize Republicans and make us give up the fight.

" OH , no! I knew this would happen, its NO use. Hopeless. We need to go home and knuckle under to socialism and fascism." WHine WHine Whine!

Why should we give up? Unless we really want to be fighting them with guns this next generation or so, when they try to take away our freedom.

Its time to KILL the nationalist socialist Obama campaign at the polls, make it TURN fascist! Taste the Victory!!!!!!!

not seen any.

obama here in north Florida is pounding the media , radio TV etc.

Plus the NEA is blitzing this area with flyer’s.

There are McCain yard signs, infact I haven’t seen any for obama but there again I live in a heavily republican county.

I am just afraid that the north part of the county has seen an explosion of housing associations, some are elitist compounds and most who live there are from the north east.
Not sure how they will vote

The homosexual marriage question is on the ballot here and there a a few yard signs on that.

But no I have not seen any 527’s or anything about the birth certificate issue.
I have just spoken to my neighbors about this and they said they had never heard about it either

The lethargy you allude to in the GOP and the McCain campaign reminds me of events in '96 with the Dole camp. I got a call from a campaign worker that year asking for money, which I gave them but then asked why I hadn't seen any TV ads for Dole in OH, which is nothing if not a key state for a Republican presidential candidate. He said they didn't have any money then but they soon would. Well, they never did seriously contest the state, and that sowed the seeds for an electoral disaster.

I'm not sure what it will take for McCain to pull it out here. Probably find something to blunt the attacks OLama is hammering on in the economic front. Running as a "true conservative" doesn't guarantee victory in Ohio. It has to be a broad-based appeal. We ran a "true conservative" for Governor in '06 and he got slaughtered by 25 points. Just winning the base won't do it.

WD,

I hear ya. I hate to say this in a blanket statement, but the self-aggrandizement of the baby boomers have wrought this upon us (yeah, I know you are one, but that’s an accident of birth).

It’s going to take another 20 years to wring this garbage out of the system. Lord grant that they haven’t COMPLETELY ruined the Republic in the mean time.

**There appears to be no Palin debate bounce**

I don’t expect there would be any Palin bounce. Palin is loved by conservatives. Among unaffiliated voters, Palin is viewed with lukewarm feelings at best and a joke at worst. The MSM and the Hollywood elite has done its job.

At this point, Obama could just grunt thru the debates by chanting, “Bush bad! McCain equals Bush!”

As long as the bad economy is front and center, Hussein stands to benefit. Hussein is the luckiest candidate to have the Wall Street crisis happen now.

This 1985 video can not be posted enough. The current situation in America is far more sinister than these polls. I think everyone should spend 15 minutes listening before it is too late.

We donated as well when Palin was selected ....... The crowds she is bringing in are evidence of a WIN . The MSM can kiss ole spot on his brown nose for all I care. They are telling the American people they are stupid by NOT voting for a seditious socialist POS !

Insults from asshats in MSM aside Americans are smarter than they they give them credit and Americans who love their country, the traditions and freedoms etc will show them in November.

Plan for the best prepare for the worst........no fear !

Good post. Do you happen to know where they get the area codes to call? I always wonder if they don’t get weighted too much to metro areas. Independents in metro areas would likely be more liberal.

Does anyone know if area codes are designed to roughly encompass metro areas (as a practical matter)? If that’s the case it seems like any given call into an area code would likely ring at a city home. More conservative independents in rural or suburban areas might not get polled as often.

The last time Gallup released the likely voter numbers, it was actually worse for McCain.

Who says NJ is in play? If it’s the polls I remember, it was before the financial collapse...about 2 lifetimes in politics ago. I doubt it is even close now.

I don’t know where Gallup gets the area codes to call. My understanding is that a computer selects phone numbers randomly and then human beings call the numbers.

Looking at the Gallup internals from the previous week (McCain -6), I’m guessing the Dem vs. Repub weighting is probably +8% to +10%. Reweighting to make Dem and Repub turnout equal makes this race an absolute dead heat with well over 10% undecided.

If I was a tin foil hat wearing, Cheetoes in my momma’s basement eating conspiracy nut, I might conclude that the media is cooking the polls to create a voting bubble for the Chosen One.

Bottom line: this election is going to come down to turnout.
