A lawyer for the Republican National Committee today said the party will ask the Federal Election Commission to look into the source of thousands of small-dollar contributions to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.
The RNC is alleging that the Obama campaign was so hungry for donations it "looked the other way" as contributions piled up from suspicious, and possibly even illegal foreign donors.
"We believe that the American people should know first and foremost if foreign money is pouring into a presidential election," said RNC Chief Counsel Sean Cairncross.
Cairncross alleged there was mounting evidence of this, and cited an Oct. 4 report in Newsweek that documents a handful of instances where donors made repeated small donations using fake names, such as "Good Will" and "Doodad Pro."

No one goes to great lengths, get a lawyer, go to court if they have nothing to hide.

I would think that at least one reporter at least one would wonder why obama is getting a lawyer and the DNC going to court so on one gets to see obama’s birth certificate.

What I don’t understand is how they could have all of these online credit card donations without having access to the exact name and address on the card.
Isn’t that required at most sites when you make a payment? Wouldn’t that be readily available from the credit card companies? If there’s presumption of fraud, wouldn’t that be good reason for the credit card companies to cooperate? Shouldn’t they be able to provide this information more or less instantly?
I thought anything less then 100.00 was not reported.
If one can goog they’re own name and up it comes for Huffington Post site, Huffington Post shows the amount you gave (less then 100.00) and also has a map showing where you live (which I find unnecessary and an attack on my privacy)... WHY CAN’T WE KNOW WHO DONATES IN SMALL AMOUNTS TO BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA?

Samll donations $1 less than the maximum is a sure sign of massive fraud ---- and a crime.

If the RNC can keep this info out in the media for a few days it maybe of some impact. The actual investigation will take several months so that in itself will have no impact upon the election.
McCain shows everyone that has donated to him. He is transparent.
