McCain blew it when he failed to link Obama to the fools who caused the financial meltdown, and then just stood there like a dummy in the debate when Obama falsely blamed the meltdown on GOP policies.

He then drove what may be the final nail in his political coffin when he voted for the bailout. Going back to Washington to vote on the bill was fine, but for it to succeed he needed to actually fight for the American people once there. Instead, he voted for the bill, casting the same vote as Obama.

Imagine Patton showing up in North Africa, giving a grandstanding speech about how he was there to fight for America, and then going out and cutting a deal with Rommel. Then bragging that he and Rommel were on the same page. Well, that's what McCain did in this bailout. He made a huge deal about going back to Washington to fight for us, and then voted for the very garbage Obama, Reid, and Pelosi were pushing.

That may have killed the McCain campaign. McCain's supporters are average, hard working, taxpaying American citizens who don't like the bailout. Obama’s supporters are ultrarich Soros types, permanent welfare bums, indoctrinated college kids living on daddy's credit card, or idiots who watch Jerry Springer. None of them care that Obama voted for the bailout, but McCain screwed his own voters when he voted for it.

Two rays of sunshine. First MurryMom is one totally bizarre person who obviously loves Marxism and domestic terrorsts so I can ignore her babbling to a degree. But puroresu, are you out of touch with facts? With ACORN, the lawsuits and threats of lawuits, the truth squads and the Obama hitler youth, are you really telling me you think there will EVER be another free, honest election in this country if Obama is elected? Maybe MurryMom can share her foil hat with you!

seeing as how obama’s dem cohorts CAUSED our economic crisis....I have NO confidence that their “fix” will work...already articles appearing to say it isn't. this is a DEMOCRATIC scandal of gigantic proportions.......obama has no clue as to how to fix this......he is an empty suit with only speeches for a record.

good luck with that fantasy of yours.....let us know how it works out.

Finally, we have hope for a President who will take responsibility for his actions

Are you a professional comedienne, or an amateur. I haven't laughed so hard in ages!

Really, seriously ... how long do you think it will take Lord Obama to cook up a Reichstag fire, and blame ... lessee, whom will he blame ... pro-lifers? Christians in general? The NRA?

After all, we know how the Left works: they're incompetent, and their answers are 100% wrong, so they survive by creating scapegoats. Hitler did it, Stalin did it, Castro does it, and Obama will do it.

My conspiracy theory is that the polls are being manipulated to show a strong showing for the Lamb of Chicago so that in the event of a McCain win, the MSM can scream that the Republicans cheated and all sorts of craziness will ensue.

It's all about ratings.

You’re right, and Obama doesn’t tolerate dissent.

What Murrymom never explains is how higher taxes, more spending, less liberty, and the extension of credit to the uncreditworthy are GOOD things.

We are just supposed to take it on faith.

Well, you may be right. Obama could very well be the final nail in the coffin of a free America. Sad, isn’t it?

Can you spare any of the drugs you are taking? I’d like some.

Hope? What hope? The hope he brought with his friends at Fannie & Freddie and all the cash Obama has taken from them.

Not to mention all the Goldman Sachs cash flowing to Obama like a river.

That kind of hope?

Possible but Ed Goeas, the owner of the Tarrance Group, who runs the Battleground poll, is a Republican. Celinda Lake, democrat, is the other half of the poll, but I don’t see how she could manipulate the poll without Ed Goeas agreeing to the changes.....

They NEED to come up with a strong economic countermessage for the debate.

Yes, and like the Obamatrons are succeeding in succesfully pinning every problem on McCain/Bush (which is bush, of course), our side needs to start taking off the gloves and pinning the problems in the mortgage securities market directly where it belongs -- on Clinton, Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd -- Obama's allies who he always votes with (when he doesn't cast a "present" vote).

We need to start publicizing Obama's insane comments about subprime mortgages initially being a good idea to help people afford homes (there is a new You Tube with his quotes), and contrast that with McCain's and Bush's calls to rein in Fannie Freddie, beginning in 2003. Its all on the record, and the facts are plain.

Come on McCain camp!, start putting out ads with Obama's socialistic positions on housing/health care/everything. Call him on his nonsense "plan" to throw $150 billion at unspecificed magical energy sources that will eliminate our imports of oil, and magically create "5 million permanent high paying green jobs." Call him on his nonsense to give tax cuts to 95% of Americans, when a third don't pay any federal taxes to begin with and the top 50% pay 95% already.

Its all a stinking snow job. So call them on it!!!

See tagline.

Eyes on the prize, people. Always work as if we're 1% behind regardless of what the polls claim.

No, this ain’t 2004. And I don’t feel confident with the economic tide being harped as a positive for Obama.

This in spite of the irony that he and his party led us to this Fannie and Freddie trough of destruction.

If McCain doesn’t come out swinging on THIS issue, it’s over IMHO.
I say this with sadness.

I am with you that Soros and Buffet are up to their necks in causing this crises to get us Obama but I don’t think it is going to work because you cannot tie McCain to Bush — they don’t like each other (understatement).

Timing of this ‘crises’ right before the debate on foreign policy with Paulson who had known for a long time this was coming all of a sudden coming out with his the sky is falling and asking McCain to return to DC to help, tells me it is a set-up to tank McCain.

Battlegound went from using a DEM+3 model 3 weeks ago, to now using a DEM +8.”

Now, I understand that we at FR like to say that they are all just pulling this number out of their a*$&.

But....could someone play devil’s advocate here and give an explanation as to why they might be using this spread in good faith? What is the analytical case that can be made for it?

I note that BG is a half-GOP firm. Are we simply going to say that the GOP side of this poll has also gone in the tank for Obama? Surely at some point their self-preservation instinct will kick in and they will try to produce an accurate poll, rather than just a copycat one. I mean, polling firms are going to be in business long after Obama is no longer President.

So I would like to hear the case as to why their spread could be accurate. REcognizing, of course, that none of us want to hear about the likelihood of a Dem blowout this year, but, that is certainly a possibility.

You don’t recall the exit polls showing there was no need for West Coast folks to even vote because Kerry had it in the bag?
