I like it! Here's a twist on your idea. Instead of wiring up the politicians, wire up their supporters in the audience. If they lie, their supporters fry.

Good idea, but their supporters would probably be typical socalist/progressive/liberals/democrats and lie about who they were supporting before they were hooked up.
