Let's suppose hypothetically, that someone actually said what the Obama campaigner said she had said. And let's also assume, hypothetically, that a week later that person attempts to assassinate Obama and in the process, kills a secret service agent and a few bystanders. My point is that there are a lot of wacky people out there from both ends of the political spectrum, and the secret service has to take perceived threats seriously. Maybe 1 in a 1000 are real, but unless they investigate all, they may not be able to prevent any.

You’re right, threats have to be taken seriously. BUT, the woman did not make any threats, the Obama camp lied, AND the Secret Service certainly weren’t very nice!
