The problem is that the best thing that can done for the economy is for the government to quit screwing with it.

While McCain has often complained about wasteful government spending, he's always been a proponent of rather heavy handed government regulation.

McCain also leans heavy towards populism. He's going to support bailing out the little guy.

I doubt that McCain's solutions to our economic problems are really going to be all that different from Obama's.

Obama might promise a bit more to one group, while McCain promises a bit more to another, but as far as the broad strokes that the average person will be able to grasp, there isn't a huge difference.

We (Republicans - I didn't personally vote for the idiot) simply nominated the wrong person to run against Obama on economic issues.

McCain can try and hammer Obama on all the big expensive programs he had planned at one time, but Obama is smart enough to say that he still supports such things, but they can't be done right now (and blame that fact on Republicans).

McCain can continue to try and justifiably point fingers at associates of Obama for our current financial mess, and that might have some success, but voters are gonna have a difficult time differentiating McCain's solutions to the current problems from Obama's.

If the Fed's go after BHO's campaign directly.....all hell will break loose....it will be spun as Repub dirty tricks and racially motivated by the MSM.....wouldn't matter if the investigation was justified....or if Obama was up to his eye balls in dirt.....

It could get very ugly....very quickly....

I didn’t say that my son is a Biochem/PolSci major. So all the references to Saul Alinsky/Weatherman Underground have probably been very educational. His last comment to me was “I don’t want to discuss it.” But he is reading.

What is the “big news”?

I haven't even heard them mention 'big news', yet.

ou can tell Obama is frazzled

Precisely why McCain should've hit Hussein hard and kept hitting him during the debate! 0bama could've had a meltdown.

That’s the episode Cosby jumped the shark, naming the twins “Nelson and Winnie.”

baby steps!

I think it helps alot when the victims get exposure, like the son of the judge that has been out there.

I see photos of the young policeman have been circulating the net. I wonder where his family is? Their presence on television would be powerful.

I also think it would be helpful to track down soldiers who attended that dance that was supposed to be bombed.

McCain played the debate just right.

He gave the DBM nothing to seize upon.

{Does their offense at “that one” tell you they were laying in wait?}

" ... it so happens that Bill Ayers lived in NYC at the same time as BO, and quite close as well. I think they might have both been at Columbia, not positive."

I was just looking at that.

Obama was in NYC from 1981 - 1985. From '81 to '83, he was at Columbia. From '83 to '85, he worked for Business International Corporation and later New York Public Interest Research Group.

Bill Ayers received a masters degree from Bank Street College of Education in NYC in 1984. This probably took about two years to accomplish, so Ayers likely went to NYC in 1982. Ayers then received a masters and doctorate from Columbia in 1987. That probably took about three years, so I assume Ayers never left NYC.

They were both in NYC at the same time, but never were enrolled in Columbia simultaneously.

This may be the missing link of what drew Obama to Chicago. Obama had no connection to Chicago. Also, nobody seems to have found anyone who knew Obama during his New York days.

Obama did express his desire to be a community organizer upon graduation from Columbia. Perhaps Ayers gave Obama the connections to find that job in Chicago.

In Chicago politics, they ask "Who sent you?" When Obama started running for office in Chicago, he famously said "Nobody sent me." I wonder if indeed Bill Ayers sent Obama to Chicago.

they were hoping McCain would because they wanted and Angry
Old man at the debate. You could tell they Obama and Tom B.
were lost, they were expecting something....instead it was boring. Obama had plans to come back...John is smart.
They gave him 5 minutes and John 1.5 minutes

it was an awful format

Lots of people favoring McCain want a more aggressive debate

Debates are not held to please voters that are already on your side. Debates are held to attempt to sway voters who are not on your side, or those wavering in the middle.

Pleasing conservatives in public debates does not add one vote to the McCain/Palin total. Pleasing wishy-washy "undecideds" does add votes to the McCain/Palin ticket.

Why is that so difficult to understand?

Must say that McCain is fumbling a WHOLE lot more than UM has so far and UM has fumbled a lot.

And for the fumbles, we thank you.

Go Irish!

Too much laundry to waste more time waiting for this to break.

Will check in later.
