All pupils at a primary school face being served halal meat at lunchtime whether they are Muslim or not, it emerged today.
Dale Primary, which has a large proportion of Asians among its 550 pupils, is consulting parents about the controversial move.
Under the plans pupils would only be offered Islamic-approved meals on days when meat is on the menu to 'avoid cross-contamination'.
For meat to be classified halal, a Muslim must have slaughtered the animal from which it came by a single cut to the throat and without stunning it first.
A prayer, including the words 'Allah is great', is said while single cut to the throat all the blood is drained.
The school, Derby's biggest primary, provides its own catering after opting out of the city council system.
Head teacher Linda Sullivan has written to parents, carers and staff asking them if the school should offer halal meat to pupils.

That's what I was thinking. This can't make the veggies happy.
The UK has a proud history but will not last another 50 years if things continue to progress the way they are now. You cannot continue to coddle and appease these people. Particulary as they outbreed you and become a much larger part of the population. They are ruthless and will destroy you. They come from a hate-filled religion that is incompatible with freedom and modernity.

Given the prayer, sounds like meat sacrificed to idols.
I always considered halal meat to be at least potentially kosher. With that prayer, I would say it would be impossible.
Not certain, but I believe there are certain voluntary restrictions for Christians (kind of advisory, so to speak) about eating meat of this nature, as it impicitly gives credence to the disputed religious practice (historically paganism; her islam).
Jews won’t make the fuss; but fundamentalist Christians sure should, and they outnumber muslims, even in England, I bet — at least for now.
What the HAL is HALAL meat? Is that meat the imam farted on?

Animal rights activists would be all over this (if they weren’t such cowards). They previously campaigned against the halal (and kosher) slaughter method. (The animal’s throat is slit — without it having been stunned, which is the usual non-halal practice.)
okay, you asked already. So I’ll add .... Everyone, including Muslims can eat kosher food ... it qualifies as Halal. So make it kosher and everyone can eat.
IMO, a Christian knowingly eating halal meat may be disobeying the instruction in Acts 15 against eating things sacrificed to idols.
