Negative campaign? You should hear some of the dirty commercials that BHO is running here in Ohio. I’ve never heard/seen anything like them.
I agree, and I wasn't giving my own opinion, rather what appears to be what many of the sheeple have started saying along with the MSM starting to ratchet up the rhetoric about the "rage" at McCain rallies etc.
Remember that McCain did not just start lecturing the crowd at the beginning of the town hall meeting, rather responded to some questions (including one where a lady started calling Obama an Arab before he took the mike) from the audience. Now do I like every single word he chooses here, no. Did I also hear him in the same meeting say that we deserve to have the full truth from Obama on his associate with Ayers in response to another question, yes.
Having said that, he and the campaign most certainly need to continue discussion on these topics. And I think the ACORN stuff, due to Obama's history with them for both th economic situation and the current voter fraud stuff, may have even better legs even.
Finally, I think some of us are parsing words a little bit here. I have "respectfully" had some discussions with some people at work that made it quite clear that I thought they were totally on the wrong side of something, including some indication that they were not completely telling the truth.
I don't think McCain saying that Obama is a scary Marxist thug Arab terrorist (even if we think it is true) is likely an effective strategy. Now saying that he needs to answer to some of his associations and is "dangerous" to the country with his economic and foreign policy approach is fair game that has been treaded already by the campaign.
The same is happening here in South Florida. Obama is bombarding the airwaves with a rather dull positive ad and several attack ads on McCain. All of them have gone unanswered and McCain has not launched any ads of his own that I have seen. They also hand out far more bumper stickers.
