Now is the time to sink the IRS and get the Fair Tax in place. How about that for fixing the economy.
I would agree, but what we need now is something that can be signed into law quickly.
Even if the President and Congress got serious about the Fair Tax, it would take a long time to go through all of the legislation and get everything in place. Plus, as a practical reality, it would have to start on the first day of a year, which means 2010 at the earliest.
I think if we were in April, proposing the fair tax might be a good idea, but we are 26 days away. It would take at least two months to explain it to the American people.
