This reminds me of all the times conservatives thought Clinton was toast. This is worse than wishful thinking, it is a waste of time and resources. Nothing will come of this just like nothing ever came of Whitewater, TravelGate, Vince Foster, Lippo/Riady/ChungGate, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick...I could go on forever. Democrats simply DO NOT CARE if the people they choose to lead are crooks, rapists, or murderers. They only care about POWER. They are so close to total control of federal government, they can TASTE it. NOTHING will deter them.
Nor do their media buds care. If they were reporting instead of supporting, it might be a different story.
You're right about not convincing hard-core Dems, but what McCain is after is the squishy twenty to twentyfive percent. He's only behind in many polls by four or five points. He just has to persuade about two and one-half to three percent of the pollees to change their minds. Any ammunition helps.
