This can’t be the real Bocephus singing?
Of course, now I have no choice but to share my own reworking of another country music classic....
with deep apologies to Merle Haggard .
We dont drink Merlot here in Wasilla
We dont take our trips to Waikiki
We burn oil, not U.S. flags on Main Street
Cause we like living right and being free.
We dont make a big deal out of hunting
But we like shooting moose and caribou
And if we let our hair grow long and shaggy
Its just because its minus 42
And Im proud to be a driller from Wasilla
A place where real women can be found
Where men dont whine and pout like Brokeback cowboys
And white powder still means snow upon the ground.
Leather boots and snowshoes are our basic footwear
Birkenstocks and loafers wont be seen
New York may have chic boutiques and discos,
But the kids here can fly planes at 17.
Oh, Im proud to be a driller from Wasilla
A place where real women can be found
Where men dont wear cologne that smells like a whorehouse
And white powder still means snow upon the ground.
In Wasilla: yes, Alaska, U.S.A.!
I went to the rally in Virginia Beach this morning. Crowd was HUGE! Had a great time. Hank’s song was a hit!

Bocephus in da house!
Thanks for the link. The Richmond crowd loved this song!
Great song.
Would love to see the White House become a McCain-Palin tradition.
Illbedamn - we FINALLY have a campaign song you can dance to!
Here’s a link to the live version at today’s rally:

Wife and I attended the Richmond rally. We drove 3 hours from Westminster, MD. Among other reasons, I went to observe the crowd. There was at least 60% female attendance. Groups of 3 or more women was not uncommon. A large percentage of individual women brought their children (often multiple,) including lots with strollers. Many brought their special needs children. We were 5 feet from Bocephus when he came to the fence to sign autographs. A real bonus.
