Just get rid of French Immersion and official bilingualism as a whole.I'm with you. I did FI in grades 11 and 12. We were a class of 30 and it was brand new then (1979-1981).

The gap is a mere +10 short of a majority. We just have to hope the projections are all wrong!

You bet. Livin in Vermont since 1981. But I really am only 60 miles south of the US Can border, so I go to Quebec frequently.

Dmitri Soudas, the PM’s communications guy, is being interviewed on Radio Canada. I interviewed him for my newspaper once—he’s a really nice guy with a young family, and he’s very proud of working for PM Harper.

I liked Elizabeth May’s mustache. It distracted me from that dental work she obviously had done in the UK.

Amen!
Props to Keith Ashfield in Fredericton. It's too bad he didn't beat out Andy Scott ... I hated that guy. LOL

“We have 146,.......I dont know if we will squeeze it out.”
It’s a nailbiter! :)
I really hope he can—147 now—I hated listening to Lowell Green’s predictions of an opposition coalition government. If there’s a strong Conservative showing, hopefully the chance of that will be lessé

There's NO chance of an opposition coalition government happening. The Conservatives are closing in on 150. With 147 they need 9+ to make it happen.

I preferred what I grew up with, which was daily French lessons starting in kindergarten. Teaching languages early is a good thing, but with FI I noticed that now the schools are turning out kids who are illiterate in two languages instead of one.

Sorry about the typo; Robertson, of course.

Back up to 147. They’re going to get very close.

Agreed. Legislating culture is simply a kind of fascism.Talk about the tail wagging the Donkey. I respect the French, but this bilingualism thang holds Canada back.

I was looking at the CBC’s results.
Montreal looks like a freakin’ hellhole.
It’s either all Liberal or Bloc.
Do the Tories ever stand a chance of winning seats in that area?
To: Candor7
Wow. I live in Columbus now. I graduated from Woodstock High in 1981. Hatfield spoke at commencement.
Used to go through Gagetown all the time back and forth to Sackville for university. When I visited friends at UNB we always seemed to spend the weekend at the Hilltop Pub. I never wanted to climb a hill again after walking around Regent street.
How did your folks make out in the floods this year?

The countryside is the key to Conservative gains. They picked up some more rural seats. Its going to be close with QB.
