The employer-required health issue depresses wages. I wish McCain would come out and say he wants to change the law that says only employers can collective and negotiate rates. He needs to say that any group that wants to do so can - churches, alumni, whatever.

Any group can negotiate a group rate. I believe the problem is that only health insurance offered through the employer is tax exempt. I would favor a law that made health insurance tax exempt regardless of the source. However, there might be some "unintended consequences" there, as I could see some bogus "insurers" cropping up and offering all kinds of services under the rubric of "health care". The real solution is to reform our whole tax system.
