These people want to destroy us.

And we should want to destroy them.

The Republican majority in 2005, under Bush, failed to completely DEFUND THE LEFT, root and branch. Its an opportunity that was missed and will be especially difficult to try at a later date.

Bush’s failure to act when a rogue prosecutor went after Delay robbed the Hill of conservatism’s strongest voice.

The Republicans were excoriated in the media and they got cold feet about their majority status. It takes guts to move forward, and say screw the media. At this point I think Mark Twain's saying about "ink by the barrel" has expired.

We have to be strong and resolved. We have to make our moves more stealthily and then stand firm. Republicans have a disadvantage in going public with principles and plans because we don’t usually lie. Democrats have the whole arsenal because they will say anything that makes them look righteous. Who’s gonna call them on it? If we make it through this crisis, maybe all media will be more responsible but don’t expect it to last. Republicans need to not expect Democrats to relate to the same set of standards and just do the right thing in a smart way. MAYBE there are some moral conservative Democrats that can come over to the right side to get things done.
