You’re right. And an endorsement two weeks from election day is hardly a ringing sign of support. Sounds like Powell is hedging his bets, probably looking for an ambassadorship in a nice cushy spot like London or Canberra.
No doubt he’s looking for something, or most likely, been promised something.
