Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Maureen McCormick may always be known as "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia" Brady from the TV sitcom the "Brady Bunch." With her perky attitude and role as the oldest girl on the show, McCormick looked like she had it all.
In her new book, Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, she lets the public know that her life certainly wasn't perfect. The book chronicles the story of her life, including two abortions, her battle with cocaine addiction and her long history of clinical depression.
Celebrity News Service reports that McCormick's book is due out Tuesday, and in it the 52-year-old actress writes, "[I was] hiding the reality of my life behind the unreal perfection of Marcia Brady...No one suspected the fear that gnawed at me."
McCormick also talks about her romances in the book, including dates with Michael Jackson and Steve Martin. She also shared a kiss with her on-screen brother Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady, but that's as far as it went.
McCormick's party lifestyle came to an end in 1985, when she married actor Michael Cummings. The two have a 19-year-old daughter, Natalie.
"I'll always be struck by how much a part of people's lives Marcia is and always will be," McCormick writes. "But now I'm not bothered by the connection. It took most of my life, countless mistakes and decades of pain and suffering to reach this point of equanimity and acceptance."

It turns out she was a slut, tho I still think she was very pretty and her bod was much better than anyone knew.

Circa 1970, every guy my age was drooling over Marcia. Too bad she succumbed to the temptations of Hollywood.
She has a jerk of a brother who has kept their father from her and has filled the dad’s mind with all sorts of crap about Maureen. Don’t know who really is at fault but it’s sad that daughter and father can’t be together. The brother won’t even let her come near him. She has a show on CMT now with Bobby Brown (Mr. Whitney Houston) and Carnie Wilson.
I read the story-it is absolutely shocking-MICHAEL JACKSON dated a female?-who knew.
But can I have the money, sans the fame, and still make it into Heaven? ;)

A good question. Several years ago, I saw a movie (a really really bad one) called Texas Lightning. There were a few extremely brief nude scenes and quite a few more of her dressed in a way that little was left to the imagination. She really was pretty and had the right stuff.
She portrayed a whore which it turns out wasn’t all that far off.
I haven’t read her book, but perhaps she approaches it from the angle of, don’t do what I did? God forgives all of us if we ask. I don’t know if she has asked or not, but I cannot assume she is unforgiven because I think her sins are worse than mine. Sin is sin.
