That area of Alaska is fairly “mild” with the Pacific Current flowing by. I can remember playing in water at the beach.

I remember doing that in Rhode Island, too. Don’t know what I was thinking ...

Howdy!
I’m getting ready to leave in a while, but I’m glad you came on before I signed off. I may or may not be back on tonight.

I may not be, either. I’ve just been milling around. We need to work on music after supper, once we get various howling children in bed.

What do people say special prayers for others when they travel when most accidents happen near the home?

Ummm... "why?"

I don't know. It could be:

1) The perceived risk is greater on distant trips.

2) The actual risk is greater on distant trips.

3) The impact (either way) is greater on distant trips. See #4.

4) Readily-available amelioration is better near the home. (How DO you say "I need an aspirin tablet" in Serbo-Croat -- and for that matter how do you say, "If you understand Serbo-Croat please say "iess" and if you don't please say nothing" in Serbo-Croat? And if they speak Ferengi instead of Serbo-Croat, how will you know and does it matter?)

5) And with exceptions, the lucky ones among us don't travel a lot. (So I'm not lucky. Pray for me. *\;-)

If they speak Ferengi those aspirins will cost you a quarter bar of gold-pressed latinum apiece.

There's a pawn shop near here that trades in latinum. I saw it on their sign.

LOL. Around here the bumper stickers said "Imagine Ballard"

(The VERY liberal Scandihoovian district of Seattle -- so liberal you go any further left and you're in deep water. Pacific water, salt water. Did I mention a major occupation there is fishing?)

Good night all.

And better get packing. Sunday is Moving Day and we don't have Tuliptree's Big Paper Truck for moving...

We won't need it. It's not like we're changing planetary orbits or anything.

At least, not yet.
