Kittehs are not nearly the neat eaters that dogs are. Dogs have a tendency to lick the floor and bowl and anything else that even smells like food.
My sweet PV would eat the hard food, but if a piece broke off, he wouldn’t touch it. It had to be the whole piece. I’d find the tiny pieces around his dish like so many shriveled appendages of mutant Smurfs.
Wednesday and Shannon will eat the crumbs from around the dish if the bowl is *totally* empty.
