Listen Republicans, and understand. The Democrats are out there.

It's not the Democrats I fear -- it's the nut fringe that's taken over the Democrat party that I fear. Most Democrats, despite their differences with us politically, would be horrified of this.

Of course, they'll be cheering this at "DU" as just a warm-up of what will happen to "rethugs" once they get into power.

Not to offend, and I do understand the far left has overrun the Democrat Party.

Having said that, this is STILL the Democrat Party. This is exactly what they are today. Old time Democrats could not retake their party, and the elected Democrats in congress bow down to the likes of MoveOn and Daily KOS. They corrupted our children with influence by leftists and teachers unions, and that’s influenced the younger generation. If all this were just the nutcase extreme (25%?), Obama would not be polling as high as he is. Therefore, it really is the Democrat Party today.

Those are Democrats who have zero clue as to what they support when they support the Democrat party. We've all known them -- the liberal geezers who bitch and moan about lousy schools and too much regulation and welfare leeches and damned lawyers -- but who blame it on Republicans!!! *sigh*

In the suburbs of Hollywood in the 1930s, a neighborhood boy scout leader who worked as a set craftsman for the movies and was a good Democrat, had one black kid in his scout troop. When it came time for him to test and verify their berit madges in swimming, the local pool wouldn't let the black kid in. So the troop leader tested the kids in the ocean. The other kids were madder than hell at the black kid because they couldn't go in the pool! But that's how it was. Ironically, in the south the Democrat party was actively segregationist, while Republicans were not. The troop leader took the sad, grand tradition of Democrats blithely in the opposition party.

In the mid thirties, the family of that black scout won fair-and-square a free drawing for a yacht, sponsored by some grocery store, (Roberts? Was that a kind of chain in L.A. in the 1930s?). Because they were black, they were disqualifed and not given the winning. Imagine how many people stopped shopping there; I would have, wouldn't you? In any case, the store is no longer in existence.

But you can sure see why black people of a certain generation are mighty pissed off.

The kids in the scout troop grew up to fight in WWII. The troop leader's son was an officer on a small navy ship, had two years of college in agriculture, and part of his duty was as an engineer's officer. In the Navy, blacks could only get as high as mess boys, no higher. One of the mess on the officer's staff had had four years of engineering school at the University of Pennsylvania, the officer recalls, yet because the guy was black, the officer was prohibited from using his skills and talent. That ticked both the officer and the messman off.

These are stories passed down to me, and they're probably not unusual. World War II must have really ticked a lot of white and black guys off -- what a load of crap. None of those things that happened to blacks then could happen today. Looks like it's been remedied, to me.

I look for black people to come Home to the Republican party. I've watched Queen Latifah, and think I see somebody like the old scout leader. A right mind that nonetheless doesn't know what he's supporting by being a Democrat.
