You have that incorrect, since Indonesia would require renouncing the US citizenship to quailify for school in Indonesia, so his school documents in Indonesia reflect solely Indonesian citizenship, again, they did't allow for dual. It does not matter that US did allow dual, that is NOT where he was.

You are correct.
By the way, the Dual Nationality article is on target. I know because of my own birth.
