I think the baby part is to put it in time sequence and provide a “diary” effect.
Well then the author should write a book. But this is an article, which is supposed to be a short exposition on a single topic to convince its reader of principal thesis.
I am happy for the woman who is that subject of the article that she has a lovely baby and that she adores it has made it the center of her attention.
But that is irrelevant to whatever point this article might eventually be gearing itself to get itself up for getting around to making.
Again, this is appallingly atrocious writing.
