For those who want to watch for NLP use, here are some things to watch for. (Let's call them out).

Using the Milton Model, making vague statements after having the listener visualize a situation, thus, putting themselves in the situation.

Changing up and using listener's representational systems (not sticking to one when speaking to a large audience, focusing on one (Now Look w/ McCain for example), when dealing with one person trying to get a reaction out of them.)

Visual Imagery, he always paints pictures of concepts.

Rhythm in speaking.

Swish moments, like suddenly changing subject, hitting a podium, etc.

Using the ‘six step reframe’ often when he tries to sway undecided, the behavior to change is not supporting him. Value reframing when he tries to make a negative aspect appear positive.. etc.. IMHO, using the six step reframe is one of the more sinister if you watch for it.

Hand gestures, such as extending or pointing with the middle finger when talking about McCain, tapping his own forehead when saying something positive, etc.

I think I’ll take a pass on watching The One. My blood pressure can’t take that many lies, packed that closely together. I’ll check back on your thread and watch H&C tonight and listen to the Maha Rushie tomorrow. That’ll do it for me.

WATCH THE INFOMERCIAL IN CONTEXT OF THIS!
THIS diffuses all that is Obama.
Also note Obama is trying to NOW be Joe the Marxist.

“Is Barack Obama a brilliant orator, captivating millions through his eloquence? Or is he deliberately using the techniques of neurolinguistic programming (NLP), a covert form of hypnosis developed by Milton Erickson, M.D.?

A fundamental tool of “conversational hypnosis” is pacing and leading - a way for the hypnotist to bypass the listener’s critical faculty by associating repeated statement More..s that are unquestionably accurate with the message he wants to convey.
In his Denver acceptance speech, Obama used the phrases “that’s why I stand here tonight,” “now is the time,” and “this moment” 14 times. Paces are connected to the lead by words such as “and,” “as,” “because,” or “that is why.” For example, “we need change” (who could disagree?)”and that is why I will be your next President.”

Techniques of trance induction include extra slow speech, rhythm, tonalities, vagueness, visual imagery, metaphor, and raising of emotion. Hypnotists often have patients count. In a speech after the primaries closed, Obama said: “Sixteen months have passed (paused) “Thousands” (pause) “of miles” (pause) “Millions of voices”.

Hypnotists call this a distraction technique: sending the dominant hemisphere on an assignment involving linguistic processes, thus opening the nondominant hemisphere to suggestion.”

From an earlier post.

I will wager that he will be all decked out in a $20,000 suit, a $100 “power focus group” tie, a $300 shirt, $600 cufflinks, $1,000 shoes. He will be sitting at a big old mahogany desk with a bunch of flags behind him (probably American flags for now). He will have his teleprompter handy and will have his godlike sound effects all in working order. Then . . the hypnotic trance will begin - for some - blah...blah...blah...blah....Bush.....blah . . blah . . . (snore). I am SO sick of hearing the sound of his voice that I am seriously thinking I just won’t listen to it. I want DONE with him, and I pray no one is really impressed or hypnotized with him . . and that he goes over time and has some sort of technical difficulties.
