Obama's tax cut calculator (Where is ours ?)
MSNBC ^ | 10/24/08 | Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray The Obama campaign's latest TV ad highlights its online tax calculator to make the case that Obama's tax plan gives middle-class Americans a larger tax cut than McCain's does.

(Excerpt) Read more at firstread.msnbc.msn.com ...

TOPICS: Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: calculator; obama; taxes
This ad is flooding the airways in PA and in my opinion it's very effective because it breaks everything down into a real dollar amount. However, it is also a huge opportunity to land a big counterpunch.

Please, someone come up with another calculator that shows Obama's "tax cuts" over four years. That way people can see that after Obama allows Bush's tax cuts to expire in the 2nd year all of these supposed cuts will turn into tax hikes. Any theoretical tax break in Obama's column could have a note saying that though Obama's plan gives this number he promised tax breaks before running for the Senate and instead voted to raise them 94 times.

Another line could add in the potential cost of democratic proposed tax hikes on the average person like carbon taxes, national gas taxes etc etc. Another line could note that Obama is proposing over 1 trillion in new spending and no specific cuts so each US taxpayer will owe 1trill/#taxpayers in either new taxes or increased national debt.

Finally, the 4th year could simply have a question mark and say by this year Obama's fiscal policies could have a huge negative impact on the economy, will you be one of those that lost their job and have no income to tax ? Raising taxes in a weak economy has historically caused loss of jobs.

I hope someone has the ability to get this done and promote it because Obama's ad is everywhere.

why McCain is not hammering that everyone will face a tax increase in 2010 is beyond me. Every income bracket will be affected. BO has already voted against making the tax cuts permanent and has made no promise to continue the tax cuts if elected.

Moreover, the Rats are expected to retroactively accelerate the expiration of the tax cuts to Jan 09 because they do not want the tax cuts to expire in an election year.

Polls indicate that Mac is still losing the tax cut argument to BO! This is insanity.

According to this I get $500 with BO and zero with McCain. Too bad, BO, I won’t sell out my country for any price.

I got a message that I will not get a tax reduction under the Obama/Biden plan. Did not tell me how much more I would owe.

My enormous tax cut under Obama would be 34 dollars more than McCain. LMAO!! I expected it to be alot better than that. I work at GM and I am definitely a regular middle class guy. I will have to let the people that follow the UAW line know what a sham this supposed tax cut really is.

I’ll take selling your country up a river for 34 dollars, Alex!

Hardly

Here is the info I have:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.HTML

Taxes under CLINTON-1999
Single earning: Single earning:
30K - taxed- $ 8,400
50K - taxed $ 14,000
75K - taxed $ 23,250

Married earning: Married earning:
60K - taxed $ 16,800
75K - taxed $ 21,000
125K - taxed $ 38,750

Taxes under BUSH-2008
Single earning: Single earning:
30K - taxed $ 4,500
50K - taxed $ 12,500
75K - taxed $ 18,750

Married earning: Married earning:
60K - taxed $ 9,000
75K - taxed $ 18,750
125K - taxed $ 31,250

I did the Obama calculator and I would get back $1,300. So in my income bracket after the Bush tax cuts have expired I will be paying approximately $900.00 more a year under BO. Of course I have no confidence his tax calculator is correct.

This is the way I understand it to be so feel free to correct me if I am wrong

his calculator ia a farce. It didn’t ask me how much I pay in health care premiums, so we know he isn’t including McCain’s 5k health care credit.

What they should be hammering is the fact that Democrats will get rid of the Bush Tax Cuts. Can you say tax increase?

They need to have a commercial with the question:
If someone pays zero federal income taxes, how much will they get from Senator Obama’s plan that takes money from those that do?

It’s all a crock. He would never propose tax cuts, and even if he did, the dem senators would vote 100% against it.

The “calculator” told me that:

“You will probably not get a tax cut under the Obama-Biden plan.”

No S...! Why doesn’t it tell me how much more I’ll owe...

McCain needs an add that shows every American’s share of the trillions in new spending the Obama is proposing.

Unfortunately, there is no calculator to illustrate how tax increases on the “rich” will be passed along to all of us consumers of goods and services.

Obama’s tax calculator — effective, and dishonest.

Zero ACTUALLY voted 94 times against tax cuts and for tax hikes. Does anyone with IQ over 100 believe he will now give them a tax cut?

Contact all stations running this ad. It quotes the Heritage Foundation. Their lawyer has notified the Obama campaign twice to stop the ad, as they are inaccurately referenced. They are ignoring the request. More lies by Obumscum.

The Obama tax calculator showed I would get something like $1,400 back under him and only $140 back under McCain. It is a totally misleading fake gimmick that is also being used in commercials here in Ohio. Funny how it has just been put out there with so little time before the election, not leaving the hard hitting MSM investigative journalists enough time to prove it a complete sham.

You should have one that looks like Obama’s, but comes up with the same dollar amount as Obama’s.

So it continues to show Obama’s tax plan with a greater dollar amount.

But then put a big flashing XXXXX over it.

“This is what you would have got if you kept your job.”

Trickle up Poverty, It works!
