Like it or not, the Republican Party is an “ideas-based” party and not a coalition of identity politics groups based on ethnicity, sexuality and race.

The GOP ran a solid, respectable, intelligent, capable and honest black man for the Senate from MD and how did the democrat party and their followers react? They booed and shouted him down whenever he tried to speak. They lambasted him with nasty ad hominens at every turn. They threw oreos at him at his public speaches.

The fact that the GOP hasn't elected a black to Federal Office in several years says more about democrats than it does Republicans.
