The majority have bought in to the welfare state, and they are only interested in what government will do for them. Look what happened after Katrina. Pro-life conservative black candidates want to get the black population off of welfare, and many do not want any part of it.

I'm sorry, but welfare doesn't explain it. There could be Black politicians and community leaders who are pro-welfare but still pro-traditional morality. And considering how much the Democrat party depends on the Black vote, this actually gives them a certain amount of power in deciding what the Democrat and liberal agenda should be. Unfortunately, most Black politicians and community leaders refuse to use this power and instead are enthusiastic backers of decadent and immoral movements (abortion, euthenasia, "gay rights"). They could separate welfare from these movements but not only choose not to, but continue to champion the yoking of economic and moral liberalism together.

I'm afraid many Black preachers are going to have a lot to answer for some day.
