What's up with Fox News? Somethings amiss. They are going soft!

Posted on 11/02/2008 9:04:12 PM PST by rfmad

Starting about 3 weeks ago it seems Fox has started moving ever so slightly to the left. I don't know if they are afraid of the Fairness Doctrine or what but, other than Hannity, they all seemed resigned to Obama winning. Even Britt Hume's crowd has gone soft. I'm mad as hell about it! Anyone else notice this?

Yeah I too noticed. I used to like Fred Barnes but he's so screwed up on this one that I quit watching him and the Beltway Boys show. Oh Ronald, how we miss you!!!! Krauthammer is about the only one with any balls. (not counting Sean Hannity of course). Rush is still my #1 all time guy though.

McCain’s campaign wasn’t the best it could be.

That could be the understatement of the year.

What I have noticed is some on this board expect FOX to be a knee-jerk right wing advocacy network.

Any deviation from that expectation is seen as apostasy.

No one ever promised that FOX would be in-the-tank for our side. That is something the Left has claimed, and apparently more than a few people here believe it. That being said, they are still the only network on the air that presents our side at all and investigates our opponents and their claims. Don't look to any other network for any of that.

I believe Greta's husband was a Hillary supporter even traveling with the campaign and after her defeat switched his support to McCain. Greta definitely seems eaten up with everything Palin, especially the First Dude, but hey, I'll take positive reporting and interesting interviews any day!

There are a few left. Megan, Oreilly sometimes, Greta and Hannity.
Remember Sarah the inside Obama letter? She said that Obama met with Fox and threatened them?

Shep is the worst, he seems almost giddy about Obama winning, Brit really is bothersome and of course there is Geraldo. They are quoting polls that are the most outlandish, and almost apologizing when they have to say something against Obama. Every bad thing they say about Obama is followed by “to be fair, McCain kicked a couple of the plane too”.

I can’t take more than 15 minutes without having to double check on the Web.

They weren’t even reporting the bombshell audio tape as news. They left that to Hannity.

Then you have an Huckabee played 6 times in two days. He is so syrupy fawning over Bil Mayer. It is like watching a baptist preacher MC a variety show. Nothing against him he is just too nicey nice for me.

I feel like I am watching a bunch of liberals come out of the closet.

It’s hard for me to say. Every time I see Combes all I can think is “I hate that little weasel” and my mind gets stuck.

Can’t think past it.

Fox is definitely heading left. 1. Where is Ollie North? 2. The new executive producer of FNC has a photo of himself shaking hands with Daniel Ortega. 3. They dropped Mike Reagan as a Fox News Contributor. 4. They dropped Tom McInerney as a Fox News Contributor. 5. They continue to employ Shep, who is clearly a Democrat— come on, he’s gay, doesn’t one follow the other? 6. They keep Wretchin’ Carlson on the morning show, hello lightweight.

There is a way around this for Obama if he becomes President. The Supreme Court can cite ‘international law’ as reason for adopting ‘hate speech’ laws that are common in Canada and Western Europe, thus side-stepping the Constitution. He could extend this to outlets like Fox News, the internet, and satellite radio to outlaw programs that are critical of his administration. His Supreme Court nominees will no doubt be radical leftists that would favor this approach.

Everyone except Sean Hannity, especially Brit Hume and his FOX Allstars. What a bunch of twisted panties. Charles Krauthamer did endorse McCain, however, and Fred Barnes picked McCain to win with 279 Electoral Votes to Obama’s 259.

But, I’ve quit watching them and will not watch them as much, after the election, as I once did. Even Bill O’ has been squishy on B. Hussein since he “graced” his TV show.

They can all kiss my butt on both sides.

ON THE OTHER HAND, has anyone else noticed that Greta Von Sustren seems to have gone from a fairly closeted liberal to some kind of, well maybe not rightwinger, but battler for fair treatment of conservatives?

She is a PUMA.

My Dad would try and temper my enthusiasm and loyal support of football and baseball teams. I would be heartbroken over losses and he explained that I cared more than the players. They got paid win or lose.

I have vested much of the same “loyalties” to certain commentators on Fox. After the last debate I felt that McCain did really well exposing Obama. My Fox buds disagreed for reasons very confusing to me. Follow the $

“I feel like I am watching a bunch of liberals come out of the closet.”

####

It is a shame, because of what might have been.

I haven’t watched Fox News for over a year, and I see no need to go back, unless (RARELY) I want live video coverage of a breaking story. The insider opinions of Beltway/East Coast elites are of no interest to me.

FR and a handful of other resources are all I need to stay current.

Screw them and their cowardice.

I’ve been around FR for over 10 years and I’m not given to idle posts but something has been in the back of my mind for a while now. All these polls seem weird and way off base. What if these numbers are out there to keep Obama supporters happy (i.e no riots) but in reality McCain/Palin are winning this thing by more than we realize. Could this be what is happening? (I will now remove my tinfoil hat)
