I read it in my early twenties and have reread it several times, learning more each time. She agonized over every sentence and every sentence is worth reading. It’s true that you have to get into it in order to get into it, but worth it.

Yes, first she agonized writing them and now we agonize reading them.

Her main problem was her own ego that would accept being edited. Had she cut that book to half it’s length it would have been twice the book it is now with a thousand times more impact.
