Early Exit Polls: TOO CLOSE TO CALL!
National Review ^

Posted on 11/04/2008 2:56:03 PM PST by Chet 99

Exit Polls Are Out. Don't Celebrate Yet.

Gawker has the first round of state exit poll numbers. I know I said I was going to be skeptical either way, but looks like we're in for a late night.

Obama by 4 in Pennsylvania, by 2 in Virginia, trailing by 2 in North Carolina, leading by 1 in Florida, leading by 1 in Ohio.

"Don't get cocky."

we don’t have to have PA, but it would help. If we don’t get PA, we’ll need NV or NH in addition to VA, OH and FL. Assuning that NM is lost. PA would help alot but not absoulutely required...

McCain’s winning. Or they’d’ve called it for Barry by now.

Hope you are correct - DRUDGE "EXIT POLLS SHOW OBAMA BIG " - Ignore it.

I don’t get it until about two weeks ago there was no “We must have PA” talk - we win with OH, VA, FL, and CO. We don’t HAVE to have PA.

That being said I believe we will get it.

15 points??? No way!!!! Unless there’s a lot of fraud going on, especially in the Philly area. No way can Obama be up by 15 points. This is crap. It’s a joke.

Drudge has a headline that Obama is up 15% in PA

Kerry was up 18% in PA in 2004 according to the useless exit polls. There is no way Obama carries PA by 15%, so this should invalidate any exit polling results across the board.

There'd be more chatter, but they wouldn't call it. Not until 7:01, at any rate.

Snort :) They'd declare McCain's candidacy as hopeless, which is as good as.

One way or the other, this will not be a close race. I'll lay odds both sides know who's won already. And since the MSM hasn't popped any corks, I'm betting it's not Obama.

Sounds like these exit polls are being taken in inner city Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, ignoring all them “Bible clinging, gun-toting rednecks” in the rest of the state.

And after all of us knowing how bad these polls are in relation to reality, we still have people on here reacting to them as if they were real.

Drudge is apparently too dumb to get it, or wants the page views.

You're right.

Tiny Obama leads in exit polls are a disaster for the One.

Let's turn back the tide of socialism!

Don’t let it get you down. Drudge says “Exit Poll” up.

He knows exit polls don’t mean squat. He’s setting it up for the “exit polls” being wrong so he’s making sure to post the 15% number.

EVERYONE....if you have friend, family or anyone in PA, OH, FL, VA, NC and any other state in play...CALL THEM and tell the to get out and VOTE!

I remember in 2004, I thought it was my imagination, the pundits would call states early for Kerry and never call them for Bush till it was a foregone conclusion. They just dragged out the call for Bush but *bam-bam-bam* Kerry wins this state, Kerry wins that state. The same will happen tonight. Don’t be discouraged, y’all! We’re going to win!

Here’s how it will play out. They will ask some lib judge to keep the polls open late, the poll workers will add the magic sauce and in the urban areas voila!!

I think a lot of people who voted for McCain didn’t want to talk to exit pollsters. In a face to face poll, who wants to be possibly thought of as racist?!

Drudge just reports what he hears, his job is not to analysis to numbers and give his interpretation.

In other words, Drudge is being a real journalist.

It’s up to the audience to interpret the numbers.

DRUDGE "EXIT POLLS SHOW OBAMA BIG "

How can Drudge post this when he has other posts that say "FL, OH, IN too close too call".

Did Matt have a moment of weakness with an Obama insider? Does this explain him carrying Obama's water?

Made the mistake of turning on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show. He’s got Mike Allen of Politico on who said in so many words that based on the exit polls Obama has won. He offered disclaimers about Kerry from ‘04, but then went on to talk about the Republicans reorganizing this week. So annoying to listen to!
